About

I am an Assistant Professor at a Computer Game Design school in Denmark, and one of my great passions aside from this work is Shakespeare. So though I have no formal education in the dramatic arts, I will chronicle some of my impressions from productions and movie versions of Shakespeare’s plays on this blog.

I really enjoyed your review of Cleese in Taming of the Shrew and your piece on the 1999 production of Othello. Are you still posting?

      Dear Anne/Suniemianne

Thank you very much. It is a pleasure that something I wrote in what seems to be the long-long-ago is still capable of bringing enjoyment to people.

Unfortunately, I am not really posting on this blog anymore. Since back then I have acquired a baby son and an extra job to pay the bills that come with such a thing 😉 I do occasionally write reviews of general movies on Letterboxd.com – under the imaginative handle Mikkel Lodahl – but I have yet to write a Shakespeare review there (the only such thing is a repost of the Taming review). I have been considering reviewing three different versions of Much Ado – the Branagh and Whedon films and the recent production at the Old Vic with Redgrave and Earl Jones – but I have a hard time finding the, well, time to do so.

Thank you for your lovely encouragement, though. It certainly does not reduce the chances of anything happening here again, although I’d be much amiss to actually promise that it might.

All the best and with gratitude,
      Mikkel Lodahl
